Power and authority of local government body in the area of urban development

Annotation: The article provides an extensive analysis of the dynamics of changes in the scope of authority of local governments in urban development. The necessity of further improving the scientific, legal and institutional frameworks for the development of joint activities of local governments and investors based on public-private partnership. Generalized world experience of motivational mechanisms in an urban setting that allows you to develop specific proposals in the context of improving the regulatory framework on the basis of amendment of the Law of Ukraine «On investment activity» dated September 18, 1991 and the Law of Ukraine «On Foreign Investment» 19 March 1996 in order to better reflect the interests of the investors operating in the field of building and construction customers facilities in Ukraine. The conclusion about the need to make additions to the Law of Ukraine «On Local Self-Government in Ukraine» in order to expand the scope of authority of local governments in urban development.
