Economic Factors of Siting Data Centers on the Basis of Unprofitable Coal Mines of Donbas
Abstract: The study is on the economic attractiveness for large corporations placing data-centers in the Donbas. It presents an overview and prospects of information technologies development and shows that IT companies are one of the fastest growing segment of the economies of different countries and attract more and more large investors. The authors demonstrate that the coal company (mine), is exhausted, may be regarded as prepared industrial sites to create data-centers, which may satisfy the requirements for its design and construction. In the case of such direction of renovation IT corporations are able to reduce significantly the cost of creating their own data-centers and the regions can solve a number of socio-economic and other problems.
