Annotation: The article is devoted to the issues of managing the labor potential, as a priority direction of the concept of human resources management. The relevance of managing the labor potential of the region in today’s conditions as a factor in the development of the economy and society as a whole is substantiated. Considerable approaches to the interpretation of the concepts of «labor resources», «labor potential of the region», «management of labor potential» are considered and proposed the mechanism of management and formation of labor potential of the region in the context of the main stages of human resources management.
