Annotation: The article found the development of the provisions of economic theory in terms of determining the conceptual foundations of the organizational and economic mechanism for the sustainable development of an industrial enterprise, which are proposed to be understood as a working guide for understanding the essence of the problems of such development and determining ways to solve them, based on the use of a theoretical and methodological component that ensures the formation of a working hypothesis that explains the problem, and other elements of the methodology of knowledge, allowing to test the hypothesis, to provide a choice of ways to respond to the subject, making a managerial decision, to the manifestation of risk factors. The paper proves that the use of systemic, situational, substrate, process and a combination of other approaches, methods and analytical tools will comprehensively increase the validity of determining strategic alternatives for the development of an enterprise, ensure the adoption of appropriate organizational and economic decisions at a qualitatively high level.
