An Approach to Assessing the Efficiency of Digitalization of the Energy Industry
Abstract: Digitalization of the energy industry involves significant costs for the introduction of new technologies and management systems. The development of a tool to assess the effectiveness of digitalization makes it possible to determine the possible economic benefits from the introduction of digital technologies and helps to make an informed decision on the allocation of investments. The analysis of existing approaches to the assessment of digitalization of socio-economic systems at different levels allowed us to identify their shortcomings and to state the impossibility of their application for the energy industry. The purpose of the study is to develop an approach to assessing the expected efficiency of digitalization of the energy industry. The research uses general scientific and special methods: analysis, synthesis, formal logic, correlation and regression analysis, multifactorial deterministic analysis, etc. A scientific and methodological approach has been developed to assess the expected effectiveness of digitalization of the energy industry, which is based on a deterministic multifactorial analysis and allows us to assess the impact of the implementation of a program document aimed at implementing state policy on digitalization of the energy industry on the specific gross domestic product. The approbation of the proposed approach on the statistical data of the Russian Federation allowed us to establish that the impact of the implementation of the federal project «Digital Energy» for 2019–2022. It caused an increase in the specific gross domestic product by 303,397 rubles per person.
