Annotation: The article analyzes various approaches regarding the content of the concept of «quality of life». The lack of a single generally accepted understanding of the quality of life category is a serious obstacle to the development of practical tools for the problem of assessing the quality of life. Taking into account the great practical importance of the quality of life, the legislative consolidation of this concept is proposed. The importance of research in the field of quality of life for socio-economic development is shown. Since the quality of life acts as the most important indicator of the socio-economic development of the state, the importance of assessing the quality of life management increases as a strategic goal. The principles of quality of life management are systematized, various approaches and methods for assessing the quality of life are analyzed. Theoretical and methodological approaches to the assessment of quality of life management are considered. Recommendations are given to improve the efficiency of the activities of state authorities in matters of quality of life management.
