Abstract: The article actualizes the conceptual apparatus of state management of food security. Interpretations of such concepts as «food security» and «state management of food security» have been further developed. The clarification of concepts was carried out by adjusting the criteria apparatus and taking into account the specifics of managing this problem in a comprehensive manner. The analysis of the mechanisms of public administration for ensuring food security is carried out and the main mechanisms whose impact on ensuring food security is the most effective and efficient are substantiated. The administrative and legal mechanism for ensuring food security, physical and economic accessibility of food in the DPR has been further developed on the basis of the adoption of new and amendments to existing regulatory legal acts. The features of the creation of an information and communication center in the context of a new strategic planning system are revealed. The functionality of the created center will become the basis for the implementation of project offices at the federal level.
