Abstract: This article explores the essence of the term «innovative project» based on the classification of its key component – innovation, as well as the uncertainty of structure, content, and environment. The level of uncertainty plays a crucial role in dividing innovative projects into different types. The article defines the causes of this factor within the context of project activities. In accordance with the topic and main purpose of this study, the relevance of using network modeling tools for managing innovative projects in today’s uncertain environment is discussed. The possibilities of implementing commonly used methods of network planning and management, such as CPM and PERT, in light of digitalization are explored. The analysis of the research revealed the advantages of stochastic and hybrid modern network modeling methods, which ensure effectiveness and flexibility in managing innovative projects while considering uncertainty.

Keywords: management, project activities, innovations, innovative projects, planning, network modelling methods, network planning and management, uncertainty, efficiency.
