Main points, methods and instruments of knowledge management

Abstract: The paper has analyzed the contemporary comprehension of knowledge management activities. Distinction between the concepts of «knowledge» and «information» has been presented. The definition of the concept of «knowledge management» has been considered and the authors’ definition of the term has been given. From above given definition, the trends at the knowledge management have been distinguished. The existing methods of the knowledge management have also been considered. The emphasis is on two types of knowledge – explicit and implicit ones. The specific knowledge management instruments have been proposed. The organization training has been considered as the knowledge management method. The features of a training organization have been given, as well as the definition of «a training organization». The particular attention has been also paid to the concepts of «social network» and «social capital». The concept of thematic communities has been exposed as one of the most important evolution modes of social networks and as the method of knowledge management.
